ABOUT ME

Kevin Johnson

I'm a self-taught photographer from Tacoma, Washington with an eye for a variety of perspectives––from sports and fashion to landscapes and street photography.

What started as a post-graduate hobby, packing my camera for weekend adventures around the Pacific Northwest, quickly developed into a passion for seeing the world and all it has to offer. The early days of exploring mountain roads and winding coastlines fueled my sense of freedom and appreciation for life, and photography has allowed me to capture each moment through my eyes.

I'm beyond grateful for every connection and opportunity along the way, and always look forward to where my camera will take me next.

I created Interlude Collective in 2023, a platform that celebrates collaboration with other artists and creatives across various disciplines. The idea was inspired by the creative minds I've met along my journey with photography.  Through Interlude, I’ve been able to facilitate unique collaborations, including a project with sports streetwear brand Ryoko Rain.

My connection to sports has always been strong, having spent much of my life as an athlete. Naturally, I gravitated towards local open gyms and training sessions, where I honed my skills in capturing movement, emotion, and the natural energy of athletes. Over time, I've had the privilege of adding world-class athletes to my portfolio––not only within the frame of participating in their sport, but with the element of lifestyle and fashion as well.

Ultimately, I’m excited to see where my camera takes me next. Photography has not only given me the chance to experience new scenery, cultures, and perspectives, but also to tell stories that resonate on a deeper level. With every project, I aim to push boundaries and capture the world as I see it—one frame at a time.
